Dear Ada,
How are you and Jamie? I am doing fine. It has been a while since I talked to you. I hope that we can all get together for Thanksgiving this year. I have so much to tell you. I love my school. I am learning so many new things. Mrs. Susan has talked to my mother on the telephone and she tells me everything. I heard you are going to school now. I bet you love it.
How is Butter? Mother told me that Mrs. Susan has been keeping his hooves cared for and that he is running much better. I bet you have him jumping over everything now. I miss riding. I don’t get to do it as much as I would like to now that I am away at school.
I really do love school but I am having a hard time in science class. I am not understanding the periodic table of elements and really do not understand why we have to learn it. But I am doing my best.
I am taking a music class and learning how to play the piano. Mother always wanted me to play but I was just too busy with other things going on when I was at home. But now I love to hear myself play and others.
I hope when I come home for the Thanksgiving holiday that we get to spend some time together. I really miss you. Take care of Jamie and Butter and I will see you soon.
Sincerely,
Margaret Thorton
