What will I learn by doing this Argumentative Essay in Library?
Learning Target #1:
I CAN learn about what an argumentative essay is and what it is not by comparing it to a persuasive essay.
Learning Target #2:
I CAN learn about the parts of an argument and key terms.
Learning Target #3:
I CAN learn about evidence by exploring passages on a particular topic and identify evidence for their claim.
Learning Target #4:
I CAN learn about counterclaims and be able to write a counterclaim for their argument. Students will also learn that a counterclaim is weaker than a claim and identify no more than 2 reasons (pieces of evidence).
Learning Target #5:
I CAN draft an argumentative essay that includes all the parts of an argument in order to demonstrate their understanding of argumentative essay writing.
