2018-2019 RC Club Members
The annual Reading Counts Awards Assembly was held on Friday, May 10, 2019.
This year's RC Data,
6th grade read 1,134 books,
7th grade read 1,495 books, and
8th grade read 1,113 books for a total of 3,742 books.
9,945 points were earned and 20,704,965 words were read.

April 27, 2018 - KMS students who attended so many days of after-school tutoring and enrichment were rewarded with a trip to the Tennessee Safari Park. Here we (Mrs. Johnson's group) are about to get on the bus and go there!

We went swimming at the Sheryl Crow Community Swimming Pool and we had a blast!
Mrs. Johnson even went down the big slide!
We went bowling and it was so much fun!
We flew kites and it was great!
We read "The Dead Bird" by Margaret Wise Brown and learned about giving a eulogy at a funeral. We learned that an eulogy is a speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died.
We made words with letters that we would want to be included in our own eulogy.

Reading Counts Olympics Club members went on a field trip to Jonesboro, AR.
We visited the Barnes & Noble book store where they picked out a book of their choice!
We also ate at Olive Garden and visited the Arkansas State University Library. It was a fun day!
